tried to upload game, nothing happened? [solved]

Hi, I tried to upload my game "Blob Story" and after inputting all the information Chrome said "uploading, ___%" etc., then the page just refreshed. I tried it again with no result. What's going on here?

We've had uploads very recently, so there's no problem with the system that I'm aware of.

Ben and RC/Greyson are more on the technical side, so they'll be able to answer your question better once they get here.

I can at least tell you that we never received your game.

I just tested the game uploader and it is in working order.

Did you make sure that all of the required forms were filled out, and that the files you uploaded were the correct format and sizes?

No luck again. Yes, I checked the size of all my files and the dimensions of all the images, but it still just refreshed the page after "working...". (How frustrating--it would be much better if the upload form could provide a reason why my upload didn't work, rather than simply refreshing and losing all the work I just did.)

Thoughts?

I'll look into this now

Could you possible tell me the file size of the game and the format? eg. Exe/Zip etc. I don't see any reason at to why it won't give you any diagnostic information.

Edit:

I've checked both the file system and the database and cannot find a trace of your game. After "Working..." the page should not refresh, failure or success will take you to another page. Can I also ask, what browser are you using and is javascript enabled?

Just some indication it's uploading? As soon as you click "Done!" it just submits the form and when the form is done it takes you to the next page. Assuming the form fails to actually send you won't get any diagnoses information and it suggests problems with your paricular connection to the server. Hmmm.

The other possibility is that the entire upload is breaking the upload limit. Because the max file posting size is 25MB the other files + description etc could be pushing you over the limit. I'll get on to the host in the mean time about raising that. edit... Again... I've got on to the host and hopefully I'll be able to get that file limit extended as I think that's what is causing the problem.

I'm not sure I understand--I don't know much about connections, etc.--but I am having no issues with other websites/servers as far as I'm aware.

I've been onto the host and the limit has been extended. How many screeshots are you uploading with your game? Just to check, I'd keep it below 6 on first upload. But other than that it should be fine to upload now. I'd copy any text you input when filling out the form and put it into a text editor just incase there are any problems to save it being a long process filling it in again.
