I may enter...I just read about this on the GMC, and I wish I'd have seen the announcement sooner. I'm a bit busy with final exams and preparing to travel home for the holidays, but I'll certainly consider working on something over the next week.

Ahh, don't worry about it we'll deffinately have another competition in the new year/spring time if you can't enter this one providing I still have an income. If there was plenty of interest we would extend this one. But we'll see what happens on the deadline first  :^.^:

Alright, well, I'm still trying to put one together anyway :P . So far, I have a nice engine, some free-to-use graphics (thank God for Creative Commons!), and a basic story, along with very simple levels and some enemies. Tomorrow, I have my last final exam from 3:00-6:00PM, and Tuesday I leave for home at 6:15PM...which means I can work on this tomorrow morning, tomorrow night, and most of Tuesday.

After that...well, I have 3 days to push my family away so I can finish :P . Which reminds me: when you say "before or on the 25th of December", what time does that end? And in what timezone? Could I post it December 25, 11:59PM EST (my timezone) if needed?

Simply because of the time of year if you're a couple hours late or posting at 11:59pm EST we will still count the entry, don't worry about that. But don't spend your christmas day working on a game!

The next competition I'm planning is likely to be Feb 1st - March 31st. With possibly an $80 top prize but that's to be decided yet. So don't fear there will be more competitions :)

Maple here. (AKA DarkPoison/Distant/Josh hehe). It's been a while! (I mean hell, I'm 18 already - get me a time machine for Christmas.) I checked here like a year ago (time really moves by super fast) and it was inactive, then decided to check again now and WHAM. I just got done with Ludum Dare #22 last weekend, and there's like 48-72 hours left for this competition but... it's looking promising! I'm pretty interested in seeing what I can do with these restraints. I'm not sure what I'll be able to come up with in 72 hours but I'm in the mood for another rapid Jam. :) I'll see if I can throw something together in time!

EDIT
Sigh. You know on second thoughts, even though I'd really like to take part, I probably shouldn't. It's an interesting theme that would have been good to experiment had I found out about this when it started, but I'm at a pretty tough/busy time in my life as it is. I guess this is kinda off topic, but I'm kinda at that point in life where I either sell a game or get a job. I have 2 options branching from the 'sell a game' path. One being to remake/revamp the Ludum Dare game in flash, or to finish off the other major project I have got going in flash, then auction through FGL. It's kinda hard because of my random motivation spikes and demotivation spikes, but if I'm going to be deving over the next couple of days, I really need to be working on a flash game... Sooner or later, I'll be back, and you can look forward to my return then. At the moment I really need to prove to myself, and to my parents, that there really is money in making games... Otherwise I'll have no choice but to submit my time to the local grocer.

I merged your two posts :P Erm that's a shame that you can't enter this time DP/Aliases. There will be another competition around spring time possibly with a higher prize. :)

Sweet. I'm not that interested in the money, though it's nice (and the exchange rate might make it more :D), but yeah I just wanna make games, and haven't seen you awesome people for ages, so I'll have to take part in the next contest! Plus it's awesome to be in a community where everyone is into making games. I tried to host some contests and things at my previous forum to no avail.

Also, I've pretty much grown on Maple and it's been like that for 3 years now so it most likely will stay that way, but I'm completely fine with you guys calling me DP/DarkPoison(/DisplayPicture? ???)!

I'm not going to be able to enter.  I don't have the time to implement my idea.  My life just isn't set up for personal projects right now.

Good luck to all the other entrants!

Were not sure as of yet and unfortunately we won't know until tomorrow evening. Your game is up now I've added it to the first post :)

EDIT:
Your next task will be to get your game some ratings over at: http://sigmanine.net/games/290/ since the top five rated are then picked between by moderators in the first week of January. Obviously if there are no other competitors there will only be you to win the prize :)

It seems Maeruron's my only competition so far. Best of luck to you!
